Reporting an ID Theft?
I know someone who is using someone else's ssn and name.. the only thing is .. the person whose identity is being stolen doesnt live in the USA, he lives in central america.. so therefore, the person who lives here. is using that person's ssn # and name .. and applying for credit cards, loans, working under this individuals name. He also has issues a fake green card. Where can I GO?? pls, help..!!

- call your local police
- First of all, tell the person who is being victimized, and have them contact the credit bureaus and report their information as stolen. They can put a flag on your account, such that no new accounts can be opened without consent.
- Tell the police and they will take it from there. The only problem is if the person who's identity has been stolen has not taken a financial loss then the police will not do anything about it. I went through this personally and it really sucked to find out that just using someone's identity is not a crime. What a justice system ha?
