if i file a police report for id theft and someone is arrested will i be notified of the court date??

- You should be notified. Even if you won't have to testify, you should recieve notice of the court date, and sentence if the person is convicted.
- This is likely to depend where you are. You'll certainly be notified if you're needed to testify. Otherwise, depending on a number of things, you may never know if someone has been arrested or tried for the offense unless you ask. But really - it's going to depend on the jurisidiction you're in, and how well they stay in contact with victims.
