Can someone take out a life insurance policy on you, if they steal your identity?

So I am being very serious. I just found out that my identity has been stole, my name forged and my social security number used to hook up with Time Warner Cable. I have filed a police report, but they are not doing much so far. I cannot get my free credit report, because someone has already tapped into that, and gotten it, but I did report with the federal trade commission. Now, my question is, can someone take out a life insurance policy on you, if they are willing to sign, talk and use you s.s. number for a life insurance policy???? IS it possible? The reason that I ask, is a little hard to explain, but I just recently found out, that my ex of three years was cheating on me, with many woman, but also, most probably in the apartment where my s.s. number was stolem and my name forged, where two girls lived, who were complete drug addicts. He new the people in this building. But.. At the end of my relationship, he wanted to take out life insurance. When he left, he insisted on keeping the phone and internet in his name. He had already frauded my taxes. HE had two houses in the past, before he met me, start on fire, collecting insurance money and squandering it, on one. In Maine, if you live together for a certain amount of time, you are considered married. He was not happy when he found out I was moving. He had all his mail, continueing to go to my house, even though I told him to get it forwarded, and this could make it look like he is still living with me. For him to have two house fired in the past, and then want to take life insurance out on me, gets me a little paranoid. He collected about 80,000 on one house, and was supposed to rebuild, but waisted the money on entertainment, drugs and alcohol. When I told him no, he could not get a polucy on me, and I kicked him out, the offers continued to come to my home, so this shows me he was determined to take out life insurance. The fact that someone has already stolen my I.D. and it was most likely someone he was cheating with me on, scares me. What if she played me? And they signed up for life insurance? Can this happen? She already had the nerve to forge my name, play my voice on the phone, and sign paper work to get cable at time warner. what kind of people do things like this?

  1. Whoa! you need more help that Yahoo Answers can provide! This sounds like a "Made for TV Movie!" You need to get back with the police, the prosecutor, an attorney, and maybe a Private Investigator! If I were you, I would move far. far away from your Ex and his cronies! It sounds like you may be in danger!
  2. In order to take out life insurance on someone else, you need to have an insurable interest when the policy is taken out. If two adults are married to each other, then they have an insurable interest. They can take out a policy on each other if they want or one spouse only can take out a policy on the other. Now if I steal your identity and pretend to be you, then my spouse can try to take out life insurance on me under the guise of me pretending to be you. So how does my spouse get paid if you are killed? The answer is that would be very hard if the insurance company investigates the policy claim. That is where the whole con game can fall apart. I better resemble you physically. I better be close to you in age. We better live in the same area. There is far too much that can go wrong.
