1. You can get a free credit report immediately at http://www.creditreport.com without credit monitoring. If you sign up for a free credit report with credit monitoring, then only the report will be free, the monitoring will not be free, and the monitoring might cost more than the report and monitoring would have cost (combined) if you had not taken the "free" credit report with credit monitoring deal.
2. No way, freecreditreport is a better choice. I put the link in the source for you. Hope this helps.
