How do I cancel over limit protection on my credit cards?
This is really a two-part question. How do I cancel the over limit protection on my credit cards and will this stop the card from going over the limit(just be "declined"? I am trying to cut down on the "over limit" fees. Seems I saw this suggestion on a news broadcast about cutting out these fees.

- 1 - Call the credit card holder and request it. 2 - No. Depending on your creditor they will let the card bounce a certain amount. That may change in the future with the new rules but for now that is the case.
- Call your card company and opt out of this feature. With this in place, if you attempt a charge that would put you over your limit it will be declined.
- Please keep in mind that any time you use more than 75% of your available credit you are destroying your credit score. For best credit never touch more than 20% of your limits. For 800+ scores, pay your bill in full each month. You never pay interest, and you get pristine scores. /
- 1. Call your credit card company (phone number is on the back of your card) and tell them that you no longer want to be able to go overlimit 2. Once you do that your card will be declined. However, make sure that you do not get any other fees that might push you over the limit.
