It does not really do anything for you. If your identity is stolen , only your bank and the police can help. The best protection is to "freeze" your credit by calling the major credit bureaus. Even that is overkill in most cases. Just check your bank account regularly for unusual items. Also your credit card. if you catch things quickly, you are protected. Don't get the kit.
