in prisons, They get people who have been convicted of computer hacking crimes and put them to work for the FBI
back after the 80's the federal government realized that they could benefit from the Geeks. So many agencies have hired them. FBI / CIA / State and Federal Governments etc. Most of these guys have started out as hackers, and have proven themselves as credible by doing grave damage to governement databases. So, as a part of their convictions ...many of them have had their crimes erased and in exchange work for the same government that they were trying to hurt to begin with. the governements view on this is : "it's good to keep your friends close, but even better to keep your enemies even closer". thanks for asking :)
