ID Theft
Help me please? ID theft?
i just had my laptop stolen and I'm afraid of what I might have accidentally had on it... I have called and placed a fraud alert with all 3 credit bureaus and also signed up for an account watch program where they alert me to anything that happens with my accounts. Can you tell me if i'm doing enough? I've been told by ppl to report my number loss to Social Security Dept... bu there web site says It doesn't handle reports like that. what do i do?

- You need to call the police and file a report. You need your model number and serial number. The thief is probably just going to sell it. But you still need to have that police report. Believe it or not, they do sometimes find it. One of my clients had her laptop stolen, they found it in an alley a few days later. The thief only took her money. Good luck.
