Has anyone heard of Triple Alert credit monitoring service?
Some credit info was stolen and the company is offering this as a free service. Are they a scam or are they legitimate? the "company" was my bank which mailed a notice to me that there had been a security breach on a certain date and they provided one year free membership at Triple Alert. Now I think it's a scam but I'm not sure...

- Actually, there are several that claim to be "triple alert". Be careful. I found this on rip off reports: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/210/RipOff0210310.htm If the "company" you speak of is your job, then ask them more detailed info on this "triple alert" service. I use Transunion's "Truecredit" service. They're 15$ per month and so far so good.
- There is a service by this name provided by Experian, one of the 3 national credit reporting companies. ( Equifax and TransUnion are the other 2.) You should verify with your bank - you call them via a phone number you have for them - to verify that they sent you something offering a year's service for free.
