How can I get a copy of my credit report without having to join one of those credit monitoring agencies?

  1. you are entitled to one free credit report every year (varies with states most states one report) but go to freecreditreport.com and you can get your report from there
  2. You can get one credit report from each of the three major credit reporting companies per year normally. If you are victim of identity theft or an incorrect report and have reported it, you can get more. These do not include your credit score but you can figure you where you stand without that score. You need to contact each company individually (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion ). You can go to freecreditreport.com to get 1 report from Experian but pay more for the others plus even more for your credit score. They have a slew of options, includign monitoring, that make your free credit report not so free.
  3. annualcreditreport.com gives you the 3 major agencies for FREE. freecreditreport.com asks for other stuff and wants you to sign up for credit monitoring. I go to annualcreditreport.com and get everything on my credit with no hidden charges. I do not get my actual score, but it's only 5 bucks. After checking it, each agency reminds you yearly and you check again for free. You can also dispute items for free. Give them a shot. I like them best.
  4. AnnualCreditReport.com is the ONLY site where you can access your free credit report from each of the three bureaus online. This is the site mandated by the FTC. Credit reports are free but you have to pay for your score. Best place to purchase your score is MyFico.com. All other sites, especially FreeCreditReport.com, require you to sign up for their monitoring services. And they don't make it easy to cancel within that 30-day free trial period.
  5. Try this one - http://creditreport.undonet.com I use it to monitor my credit score during last 3 years. And also cleaned off some bad items from my credit report.
