Risk of identity fraud?
Im 18, I applyed for a loan a few months ago, decided i didnt want it anyway. I've never really taken much care with my 'identity' or whatever. Since i turned the loan down, different loan companys have been calling me and its really *********ing me off!!!!! then today i get a call, asking me if i want identity fraud protection for 5.99 a month? wtf? i dont even really understand this all, apparantly if my identitly is stolen i could have to pay 8 thousand pound to get it back? people can apply for loans in my name even though they have no id, passport, driving licence, birth certificate saying its them? The world is crazy... So what should i be thinking, and what should my next actions be? Thanks.

- You are right there is quite a bit fraud , you need to protect your ID's. The reason several credit companies are calling to offer you credit & credit cards is because the original company you applied to sold your info to other credit granting companies. Don't pay $5.99 a month for fraud protection it's a con game to trap you into scamming you
- Put your phone number on the Do Not Call Registry... after you are on it for 30 days, you can file complaints against them...
- I'm not certain but I think Britain actually has more safeguards in place to help prevent this compared to USA. It's not impossible for it to occur but credit checks are done differently in UK
