How can a person find their own identity?
I'm in my mid-twenties, and am a junior in college. I've made some mistakes in life that I regret deeply. I don't know how to afford to live in an area that pays a lower minimum wage for a higher cost of living, nor do I know how to even keep a job and go to college, since I cannot actually pass my classes with the grades I was aiming for already, let alone with a job to get in the way. I don't know how to get car insurance that I can afford. All I have left is $400, which is supposed to be used for food, traveling to school, and bills and last me through June. On top of this stress, I have no clue who I am as a person, nor where to begin to discover myself... I don't know what I want to do in life, nor where I want to be 6 months, 2 years, and 10 years down the line... I don't know how to select something to want to do, or somewhere I could want to be. I would appreciate some assistance from somebody who has some experience in figuring this sort of thing out. Thank you very much. The car can't go. I will lose a great deal more money by attempting to sell it, as the value it is going for is less than the value I owe on it. The $400 I have left came from student loans to "help" with the "cost of living."

- I got right with God and he leads my path Hope you do the same if your not already Dont let it worry you it will come to you sooner than later what to do
- I agree, God is my rock. Praying and reading the bible has always helped me. If you are not a religious person, I would talk to a guidance counselor. They have resources you can use to help you with finances and future goals. Be patient as you go through this. We have all made mistakes that we truly regret and you can't change what you should have done but you can change what you are doing. I wish you the best.
- Your expectations for yourself at the moment are too high. Not saying you aren't smart or strong however, but trying to balance perfect grades with working full time isn't gonna happen easily. You are still young and it's normal for some people your age to be confused about who they are. First you need to figure out what you need to change about your job, or school, or living area to make things easier or happier for you. If you can't afford a car, well, that needs to go. Take a bus in the meantime. You are a lready a junior in college, you don't have that much further to go. You are going to have to make sacrifices that are going to suck at the time. But trust me, if you are willing to make certain sacrifices to better yourself and your position, in the end everything will be easier and come together for you. You could take out a student loan or something for now too to help pay for food and other bills. There are many other people in your same position, you are not the only one.
- Possible resources.
- God loves you and you are precious to Him. If you come to Jesus with genuine repentance and faith, you are a child of God, so says the Bible. This is our best identity. In the Beginning God created heavens and earth. God gives us air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy. God gives us water to drink and food to eat. God gives us a wonderful body and a sound mind and life. God loves us, and we are precious to Him. The Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation, and qualifying us to Heaven. Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting. We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus. Your life therefore has a fantastic and glorious future! (Please visit: www.soon.org.uk)
- Try getting outside of yourself and serving others. Many people have found themselves serving their country in the military. It's not for all but it will mature you.
