What do you think about the new secure ID law?
Do you think that it will really work? Or do you think that illegal immagrants will find another way to use one's ID? Do you think that it will actually prevent ID theft?

- Anything that makes their theft of US tax dollars more difficult is worth a shot.
- I'm legal and I don't want a national ID card. Smacks of the Soviet Union's "papers".
- We've managed for 230 years without a national ID card, I don't see why we suddenly need one now. Our privacy is already shot full of holes, and we don't need another blast at it. Let law enforcement do their jobs without it, and leave my privacy alone.
- Opposed to this. We are giving away far too many freedoms. This is going to cost us too much money to implement. I'm soo sick of hearing about laws being passed. This card is not an effective solution. Illegal immigrats work for cash and they do not need a REAL ID new license for that. The government gives us so much spin , re: this well help with terrorism, and to crack down on illegal immigration. This card will not help any of those problems. They want to collect more information regarding citizens. Citizens need to draw a line in the sand. Step up and say NO!!!!
- I don't think it'll work. Since it's been labeled a foolproof plan, some fool will have already found a way to screw it up. I DO think it's a gross invasion my my privacy, as well as a huge violation of my civil rights. What's next? A national ID card? OOOOooohhh...better yet--how about a microchip, placed under the skin on your hand or forehead? Nobody could buy or sell without it....
- I think it's a ridiculous waste of money. I suppose there's a chance it will up security a bit, but not for long and not enough to make a significant difference. The longer it's around the more of a chance the people it's meant to keep out have of figuring out ways around the system. There's no dire need for anything like that and it will probably end up costing people an unnecessary amount of money. I suppose I need to find out more about it before I can form a really strong opinion on it but, from what I know so far, I don't really like the sound of it.
- It can't do any less than what we have now - zip. If you have nothing to hide and want another tool to help keep this country safe and try to keep illegals, and you have nothing to hide yourself - it's a GREAT idea!
- I don't think it will do much good. A terrorist could still get a compliant ID. Just because we know who someone is doesn't mean we know what they are going to do.
