Has anyone used Life Lock Credit Protection service?

Public Comments

  1. I havent but I would be interested in what it is.
  2. no, I have the same service though thru my credit card company and it charges the same amount.
  3. That company is a joke. I can do the same for free. Just call up the 3 credit bureaus and place a fraud alert good for 3 months and it is free. Or if you wont need credit to buy anything they freeze you credit cost 10 dollars per credit agency. Once you freeze nobody can access it till you call to thaw it which cost another 10 dollars. Life lock offers to stop preapproved offers. You can also stop them free by calling 888-567-8688 that is the national opt out number totally safe. Life lock is a waste of 10 dollars a month.
  4. LifeLock is a good option for people who don't have the time to put into protecting their own credit. Like most industries in this country, you will have your nay-sayers and those who will praise it. You will have to determine for yourself if the cost of their service is worth it to you. They don't do anything you can't do for yourself. However, that does not mean that you shouldn't use their services. If you want to fix your car and don't want to do it yourself, you go to a mechanic, right? If you need to go to court and don't want to represent yourself, you hire a lawyer. If you want credit repair done and don't want to do it yourself, you hire a credit repair firm. Similarly, if you want your identity protected and don't want to do it yourself, you hire a company to do it for you. You have to determine whether or not their cost is good for you. As far as LifeLock goes, they are amongst the best in the industry of identity theft protection. At $10 per month, in my opinion, that is worth the peace of mind.
