ID Theft

Commited ID theft in US but living in Europe now?

Hmm if you commited id theft lets say using a creid card and charged up 20 grand. THe police know who you are but you moved to another country in Europe before tehy came after you. IS it likely that state police will track you in Europe or is it best yo unever retrun to teh States. THe credi card company will pay off teh debt to the victim? WIll Local and state police chase someone fro 20 grand or d otehy have to much other work to do to be shacing someone for that amount in Europe?WHat do yo usuggest the person does who is an american citizen but lleft because of this not wanting to go to jail for 2 to 3 years. DOes he ever have to return to US if no one bothers him in Europe? What will happen to the case? WIl it jsu tbe on record that he has a warrant and was never arrested? A warrant for his arrest forever untill he tries to return to US? Only stoel 20 grand did not kill anyone but still ID theft is a big crime. Somene explain what that person shoudl do?

  1. Best thing to do would be to go to your local police department and ask them. I'm sure they will understand and they should help you out.
  2. Europe is a great place ... stay there. If you come back, make sure you have an established alternative name and SSN ... the for things like petty crime and traffic tickets it wont be picked up on back ground searches. Better yet, keep your nose clean. 20 grand .. how can you move to Europe on that!
  3. 20K they will get you in Europe, Europe for purposes of extradition is no different then the states,
  4. ID theft and home invasions, should be punishable by death. Having said that, it is safe to travel anywhere on earth as long as you use someone else's money. Go ahead, have a ball.
