British justice now a thing of the past - murderer of headteacher getting new home and identity?

So now it transpires that we, the British taxpayers, will be footing the bill for the killer of headteacher Phillip Lawrence? According to media reports, Learco Chindamo, the culprit, will be getting a new home, new identity, and intensive security protection costing up to ONE MILLION a year. And we'll be paying for it! Do you agree that British justice is a thing of the past? And that Chindamo should have been deported back to Italy? How is it that the judges in other countries manage to interpret the same Human Rights legislation in a more rational way than the lunatics in our British courts? I feel so, so sorry for the family of Phillip Lawrence.

  1. No such things as justice in this country anymore.
  2. That is awful, they should have deported him straight away. Perhaps the justice system should have panels made up of people who have been afected by crime, to give advice for sentancing. Judges and the legal system are so estranged from real life they have no idea the effects of their decisions have on the victims. My heart goes out to the family of Phillip Lawrence.
  3. I wonder how we would react if a UK born kid raised in Italy had done the same thing in Italy. Would we be saying now, fine we have to take him back or Italy should keep him? How would The Sun be reporting it? If we would agree with it for the same reasons as people are saying he should be deported, including the family knowing he is nowhere near them, then that is exactly what should happen. But I doubt it is we would be up in arms that we have to take in this murderer.
  4. What people in the UK are just realising is that there is no connection in this country between the Law and Justice. The qualities of a real country (as the UK used to be ) is reflected in its institutions, one of which is the judicial system......need I say more?
  5. I agree with you ,hence the star, the country has gone to the dogs.the legal system is rubbish,it makes me sick.
  6. this has happend when they let child killer mary bell out she was given a new identity. and that was 30 or more years ago. it also happend in the jamie bulger case when those two scumbags at tax pays expense now are living under new identeties. british justice isnt dead as you claim its been f-ed up for years this is just one more case.
  7. The Chindamo verdict which allowa him to stay in the UK is an affront to everyone. This worthless scum would have - prior to 1964 - been hanged. However, if you think HE'S bad, then you should read about his father - who's even WORSE. (Extract from 'Daily Mail' 21 August 2007).... Learco Chindamo's father, a Mafia gangster known as the Acid Man, is in a Spanish jail awaiting trial for murdering his ex-girlfriend. Massimo Giuseppe Chindamo was arrested last year after the brutal stabbing of the Venezuelan woman in Gran Canaria. He went on the run and hid out for a week in a cave, but was eventually snared by police. Massimo Giuseppe Chindamo is a Mafia gangster known as the Acid Man. It also emerged yesterday that in the build-up to the Philip Lawrence murder trial in 1996, Massimo exchanged dozens of letters with his son from his own cell at the top-security Viterbo prison north of Rome. At the time, Massimo was serving a 15-year sentence for throwing sulphuric acid into his estranged partner's face in 1988 - the crime that earned him his gruesome nickname. Interviewed in the prison, Massimo tried to take some perverse credit for how his son had turned into a murderer. "He writes to me every week - we are very close," he said. "He is my favourite son and always will be. "He looks up to me and he respects me for being his father and teaching him so many things. Learco is like me - he has courage." The 55-year-old, who has numerous convictions for assault, extortion, possession of firearms and arson, fled to the Canary Islands after the acid attack. In his absence, a Milanese court sentenced him to 15 years. He was eventually arrested in 1991 and extradited to Italy, where he was jailed until 2005. That year he returned to the Canaries. But in May 2006, he allegedly stabbed Maria Elena Pedraza in broad daylight in a jealous rage after she broke up with him. He is said to have then dumped the bloodied murder weapon and hidden in caves for a week. Acting on a tip-off, officers spent four hours on foot searching for his hideaway before finding him. Despite being cornered, Massimo tried to escape but was arrested and will face trial towards the end of the year. Last night his lawyer, Javier Hernandez, said: "I am aware Massimo has a son in the UK but he has never said anything about him being in jail. He has never denied killing Maria Elena, but I will be insisting there was no premeditation and that he did not intend to kill her the day she died. "If he is found guilty, I'm envisaging a sentence of between 12 and 15 years." -------------------------------- Both father and son should have been hanged, along with the other 20,000+ murderers who have not been hanged since the death penalty was abolished in 1964. All of the victims are still dead, their relatives are still choked with grief (sometimes 40 years after the event) and these murderers are strolling free around the UK having 'paid' for their crimes. We NEED the death penalty for these worthless scumbags.
  8. That is just mind bogglingly stupid. So the lesson to be learnt here... Kill someone and you get a free home paid by the taxpayers... That is not the way to bring crime rates down. The justice system should be... if you take someones life then you lose yours not a slap on the wrists by serving a few years in jail then told you can stay here in a nice new house as long as you keep your nose clean.Whats to stop him from killing someone else? He cannot be deported as it breaches his human rights... what about Mr Lawrences' rights when he was alive? Those who commit serious crimes such as murder/rape etc should have NO human rights at all. There is no such thing as justice in this country anymore, it wont be long before its a free for all and then the police/govt will have no power to do anything as it will be too late. I lost my girlfriend after a hit and run when she was in Toronto, her killer is serving at least 25 years... Still not enough in my book but he will lose out on 25 years of his life in which time i hope he has learnt a lesson. Too many PC people who shouldnt have any power over judges in this country are to blame as well as the government. I hope he meets a bloody and very painful end very soon.
  9. i feel so bad for his family also-who if im correct were promised hed be deported after his sentence had been carried out all them years ago-and have u checked out this kids father and what hes done? what a disgusting family
  10. This is still speculation and is described as what may happen, his lawyer would have to apply and it is not something that is granted automatically. The decison would be taken as a matter of public protection and whether we like it or not he has been judged as having served his sentence upon release and so will be afforded the rights and freedoms of other citizens and so, if we didn't have a whole load of vigilantes in our society who think it is OK to take the law into their own hands then new identities and relocation packages would not have be used for criminals such as Chindamo so often.
  11. Unfortunately the inmates are now running the asylum. the do gooders have ruined the country.
  12. If British Justice is a thing of the past then I think the blame lies with all of us. We all take the time to come onto Answers and slag off the Government, yet if we all took 5 Min's to write in complaint of this injustice, then perhaps things would change. . I read about 20 years ago that the electricity supplier for Rome put it's prices up and the whole of Rome refused to pay their bill, guess what? The electricity supplier lowered it's rates. Moaning changes nothing.
  13. What justice system. Only thing to say is CRIME DOES PAY. Its seems only criminals have human rights & law abiding citizens can go rot, or words to that effect. This country is a joke, lunatics are running the asylum.
  14. only in great Britain
  15. Justice has gone stupid. Plus, the police can't be bothered to spend time catching murderers, instead they spend time doing the easy stuff such as nicking WI - FI hackers. I mean whats worse, a guy who has more IT knowledge than the usual male or a murderer!
