Is identity theft insurance worth the price? My rental insurance company is offering idenity theft insurance up to $25,000 in lawyers fees for identity theft etc. I think the price was $40.00 a year. Is it worth it? Has it helped somebody out?
Does anyone use Life Lock or any other identity theft insurance company? My husband is convinced that we need to get this. It costs $110 per person per year, and from what I gather, all they do is contact Experian, Transunion and Equifax and tell them that you suspect you might be at risk for identity theft. They provide these companies with 2 phone numbers provided by you. Then if something happens & your identity gets stolen, it's your responsibility to call Lifelock & tell them. If you don't, they won't go to bat for you. If you do everything they tell you to do, they will pay for the legal fees to get your credit straightened out, up to $1,000,000, but they don't reimburse any lost money. Is my understanding correct? If not, what am I missing? Wouldn't it be better to contact the 3 credit companies and put a security freeze on our credit? Yes, it's a hassle if we actually want credit, but then no one can get credit in our name, period. No hassles with laywers and ID theft insurance, because no one can get through to the credit companies.
Medical insurance fraud/Identity theft? Last night I received a letter from our insurance company letting us know that we opened an on-line account to access vital personal information. We did not open this account. It provided the user name that was established. We tried unsuccessfully to log on. We contacted customer support. My husband's ex-wife had created the account approx. 3 weeks ago. She accessed our information. She impersonated my husband to create the account by using his name, SSN, DOB and checked the box that she was him. Then she put her email address as the registered email addy. She had full access to view all benefits used for the last year. Doctor visits, labs, procedures etc. Is this some sort of privacy violation? Since she was never on this policy. The secret questions to try and obtain the password pertained to the kind of car she drives and her birthplace. Anyone out there know what this violates?
Can someone take out a life insurance policy on you, if they steal your identity? So I am being very serious. I just found out that my identity has been stole, my name forged and my social security number used to hook up with Time Warner Cable. I have filed a police report, but they are not doing much so far. I cannot get my free credit report, because someone has already tapped into that, and gotten it, but I did report with the federal trade commission. Now, my question is, can someone take out a life insurance policy on you, if they are willing to sign, talk and use you s.s. number for a life insurance policy???? IS it possible? The reason that I ask, is a little hard to explain, but I just recently found out, that my ex of three years was cheating on me, with many woman, but also, most probably in the apartment where my s.s. number was stolem and my name forged, where two girls lived, who were complete drug addicts. He new the people in this building. But.. At the end of my relationship, he wanted to take out life insurance. When he left, he insisted on keeping the phone and internet in his name. He had already frauded my taxes. HE had two houses in the past, before he met me, start on fire, collecting insurance money and squandering it, on one. In Maine, if you live together for a certain amount of time, you are considered married. He was not happy when he found out I was moving. He had all his mail, continueing to go to my house, even though I told him to get it forwarded, and this could make it look like he is still living with me. For him to have two house fired in the past, and then want to take life insurance out on me, gets me a little paranoid. He collected about 80,000 on one house, and was supposed to rebuild, but waisted the money on entertainment, drugs and alcohol. When I told him no, he could not get a polucy on me, and I kicked him out, the offers continued to come to my home, so this shows me he was determined to take out life insurance. The fact that someone has already stolen my I.D. and it was most likely someone he was cheating with me on, scares me. What if she played me? And they signed up for life insurance? Can this happen? She already had the nerve to forge my name, play my voice on the phone, and sign paper work to get cable at time warner. what kind of people do things like this?
aside from credit, what is the purpose of identity theft? im a victim, but ive done all the damage control possible in terms of bank accounts and credit reports. im still wondering what other atrocities the thief could be planning against me. if my credit report is flagged and he or she tries to apply for a cell phone, medical insurance, or book a flight -- will i be notified? is that credit report alert only a defense against fiscal fraud or all cases of identity theft?
Identity for a bank account and a N.I. number? In recent weeks we have had mail from a bank, a food processing plant, and now the DWP, for a person who is obviously not British in origin. They have used our address to obtain a N.I. number and a car insurance policy. The police tell us that nothing illegal has happened. The bank (insurance) don't seem to care and the local job centre brushed it off. Would you be worried if this happened at your address? If so what would you do about it? Stormydyas, the post office do not want to know. The DWP do not want to know. Barclays bank do not want to know. Kerry foods do not seem to give a s***. All mail has been returned, with the exception of that received today. That is ready to be returned. Nothing illegal has taken place we are told. No crime has been committed. Anyone can use anyones address it seems.
Could police tasings come to an end if someone catches a cop tasing an illegal alien? We all know that most citizens deserve to have their identities stolen, pay more taxes than aliens, pay for auto insurance, and of course be tasered for pretty much no reason at all. But since illegal aliens are above the law, would we finally start to see the flaw in cops abusing their use of tasers if we could video capture one of them tasing tha crap out of an illegal alien? me2 , you must be high. That Florida kid was resisting arrest and was warned numerous times before the tasing. If a cop says "Stop resisting or you will get tased" that means STOP RESISTING OR YOU WILL GET TASED. If anything, the kid should have been tased a second time.
My car is classed as a Category C insurance write off. Can I appeal against this? Before I owned the car, a 1997 Ford Escort Estate, it was involved in a minor bump. The car was stationary, and was hit at low speed by a reversing car. The only damage was to the tailgate. The insurance company had the repairs valued at over £1000, and thus offered the owner £900 to scrap the vehicle. The owner refused, as the car was otherwise immaculate. He took it to a private but reputable bodyshop, who replaced the tailgate, at a cost of £500. They re-MOT'd the car, and the insurance was re-instated. On applying for a new V5, having just bought the car, I have just had a letter from the DVLA saying I need to get a Vehicle Identity Check, as the car is classed as an insurance write off, Category C. As no claim was pursued, and no money was handed over by the insurance company, surely the car was NOT written off, and my car should not have "The vehicle has been substantially repaired and/or accident damaged" on it's log book.
Can employers force you to take their free insurance? Three years ago, when I was first hired, I was given the option and I opted out (even signed the paperwork). My husband's benefits were much better and I do go to the doctor on a regular basis. Friday, I received an insurance card from them and was told that it was free and that they had to have 100% participation in order for the company to get their benefits. They can't opt me out until 2007 and now I have a higher co-pay and a out-of-pocket deductible to meet. How can they do that? I haven't signed anything and they used my social security number without my knowledge. As far as I'm concerned, that's identity theft! I have two doctor appt's that I can't miss. I have been so upset. Any thoughts?
How to feel better after being victim of a burglary? Came home two days ago to find my apartment burglarized and ransacked. They stole my 50" plasma TV which was only 5 months old and 2 speakers. Nothing else appears to be missing, which is good I guess. They could have stolen lots of other things that would have been hard to replace, or things that would have allowed someone to steal my identity, but they didn't. Filed a police report, then the fingerprint team came out last night to dust (didn't find much), and called my insurance (still waiting for a claims adjuster). Today I will be cleaning the apartment (that fingerprint dust is everywhere). Any advice on how to cope with being a victim of a burglary? Thanks in advance. All these answers are great - I will have a hard time choosing the best. Thanks for your support!
Can a wife be held accountable for opening credit card accounts in her husbands name without his consent? My brother is at the beginnings of a divorce and his lovely wife *sarcasim* opened over 4 credit cards in his name without his knowing. Among other acts of deception including marrying him for health insurance to take care of a pregnancy and a child that she lied and said was his and taking money to pay her bills and then never paying them and then he later would have to pay them again........can he file for marriage fraud and identity theft?
Identity Fraud? My identity (i.e name, address, date of birth) has been recently used to register a car in and also been used to apply for insurance. What steps do i need to take in the long term to get this sorted. I'm extremly worried about someone opening a bank account in my name if they posses all these details!

Will a hit and run in parking lot raise my premiums? I have a clean driving record, my car was hit in a parking lot and I don't know who did it. Damage is $2400. Prior to this, I was rear ended three separate times and my insurance company got reimbursed from guilty party's insurance company. Do you think my premiums will be raised? How can I find out without filing a claim or revealing to the company my identity?

Is it illegial to fake your own death? I was having a fight with 2 friends, and it was about the legality of faking your own death. Obviously, if you gain any money (ie Insurance Fraud), commit Identity Theft, desecrate a body, dodge any debts, or child-payments, get someone blamed for your murder, or do Anything against the law, then it's illegial. Pretend none of those things happen. It boiled down to this scenario: Joe has no outstanding debts, has never been married, and has no children. Joe pretends to be kidnapped. His friend Mac helps out. Mac sends several letters to Joe's family, demanding a ransom and threatening Joe's safety. (Mac has no intention of collecting ransom or hurting Joe.) After a few days, Mac stops, and Joe is never heard from again. Joe's family assume Joe has been killed. Joe continues to use his regular identification and pays taxes. Is this scenario illegial, or just a nasty trick? -Hoping someone in-the-know will settle this argument.
Travel sellers license and errors and omissions insurance.? If you are selling a tour to a resident of a state where a travel sellers license is required to sell within that state and your company resides outside of that state, are you still required to acquire a sellers license from that state you are selling to? Does this only apply if you are selling airfare or sea travel? How much should I expect to pay (more or less) in errors and omissions insurance if I am a small start up business and we are selling adventure surf tours? Lastly, are you required to disclose the identity of the tour operators for whom you are representing if you are agency selling their tours and if so, how transparent do you need to be?
An insurance company just called me about a wreck that I know nothing about.? I received a phone call from Liberty Mutual Insurance earlier this week and just got the message on my voicemail. The following is a transcript directly from the message. She greeted me by my name so she did not call the wrong number. "I'm calling regarding medical bills that we received from you for an accident occurring on October 26, 2008. I don't find a claim set up for these bills. If you could please give me a call and let me know if this is an automobile accident that you filed with Liberty Mutual and if you're insured with Liberty Mutual or if the person you had the accident with had insurance with Liberty Mutual. I need a claim number and a policy number. If a claim number has not been setup then we need to setup a claim so I will need information regarding how the accident happened. Thank you. Ok, I have not had an accident in over three years and I have never had any dealings with Liberty Mutual. I'm single so there is no one else on my own insurance policy; but once again I have never had ANY dealings with Liberty or an accident as of late. Anybody have any idea on what the heck happened? Is this some type of insurance fraud, scam, identity stolen or what? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks. I have not been in a hospital in years...especially not October 26. And I doubt that she got the wrong number because she addressed me by my first name. Now, my voicemail does say my first name...but the situation is just weird. Thanks guys for all of your comments and advice.
uk identity cards,? The ongoing controversy with regard to ID cards: Isn't true to say we already have a form of ID card . namely our national insurance numbers. which, for those who can remember! used to be their Identity card number during world war 2. Add a photo to it, plus hologram, and you have a viable ID card, More cost effective than what the goverment propose don't you think?
Negligent Insurance Company? I recently switched over to a new health insurance provider and have run into a problem. I got a call today from a lady almost 200 miles away saying she received my medical benefits information "welcome packet", addressed to HER. She apparently applied for a policy around the same time and she hadn't received her policy information either. It seems like the insurance company stuffed my stuff into the wrong envelope. This wouldn't be a problem if the contents didn't contain basically everything in the world a person would need to steal my identity (name, address, phone, SSN #, height, weight, medical history, pre-existing conditions, etc). Basically everything except the color of my cat. Not only does this scare the heck out of me, but it also makes me absolutely disgusted and infuriated. I would imagine some of this falls into the category of a HIPAA violation. But, what about the apparent negligence of whoever stuffed this envelope containing my entire docket of personal info?
How do I get a certified copy of my identity documents without paying through the nose? Recent UK Anti-Money Laundering legislation means that, in order to transfer an insurance policy I jointly own into my sole name, I need to provide proof of ID. The policy provider will not accept originals, only a certified copy, however I am being quoted up to 80 GBP by a qualified notary public for basically copying a driver's licence and stamping it. How can I get this done without the high fees?
Identity Theft Rant? Does anyone else find this ironic? We’re constantly being told about identity theft; “Buy Identity Theft Insurance, Shred Your Mail, Only Use Secure Website, Lock Your File Case, Hide Your Children Under The Bed, and For Gods Sake Don’t Go Out After Dark!” OK I exaggerated on that last part but you get my point. Despite all these warnings and thousands of cases of identity theft every year, our credit card companies and banks still send out our statements every month with our card numbers plastered all over it. We know our numbers, why not print just the last four if someone has multiple accounts? Even when I sign up for paperless billing they still find some other reason to mail me something with—yet again—my numbers plastered all over it! Anyone else find this ironic? Could this be a conspiracy?
What is necessary to refill a prescription? I am wondering if it is possible for my son to get a refill of any of my prescription medicines. What does he need to bring to the pharmacy to get a refill? I.e. the bottle, a new prescription, picture identity, proof of insurance. . .? I'm sorry, I mean to ask if my son would be able to refill my prescription without my permission, and steal all of my pills, which are vicodin, which I believe is controlled. So, could he pull it off?
Did the Titanic really sink or was it all part of an insurance scam? Some people claim that there were 2 ships - one called the Titanic and the other called the Britannic. The Britannic was quite old and was nearing the end of it's life and so the Titanic was built to replace it. It is claimed that the identities of the two ships were switched and so the oldest ship (the one of least value) became the Titanic and the newer ship became the Britannic. So when the unsinkable Titanic sunk after hitting an iceberg (which some say might also have been rigged with explosives), a large sum of money was paid to the owners of the two ships to pay for it's loss. This effectively means they got a free ship out of the disaster of the Titanic. Because the two ships were identical, it would have been impossible for the public and the insurance companies to tell them apart. So, this conspiracy theory claims that it wasn't the Titanic that sunk but the Britannic instead. So what do you think? Do you believe in this conspiracy theory?
Identity theft? My ex left the country 2 weeks ago and all he did was to call me and tell that he has left my personal stuff[by that I mean papers with my personal information] lying all over the place.I did't know he still had anymore of my personal stuff cos I thought I had collected everything.I am so afraid of identity theft.I am thinking of taking identity theft insurance but Iam so confused.Pls help
Will a "Fraud Alert" prevent my auto insurance to be renewed? Hi, I want to put a "fraud alert" on my credit to prevent possible identity theft. I am wondering if my insurance company can still check my credit history after I put that alert. I am concerned that they cannot check the history and they don't renew my policy or maybe increase my premium. I appreciate if you can advise.
Does anybody know how to stop junk mail? I get so much junk mail, it is ridiculous. I get more junk mail than bills. Sometime I will have a mail box full of junk mail and no bills. The no bills part I enjoy. I get tons of credit card applications, warranty applications, accidental death insurance applications, life insurance applications and, coupons. I am getting hired of shredding this stuff. I have to shred the applications because someone might commit identity theft. The biggest thing I am afraid of is the mailman putting that mail in someone else’s mailbox.
What is the limit to what is considered acceptable? to better your life and feed your family? Please list things that are acceptable and those that aren't. To start you off, how about these examples: crossing the border illegaly, stealing food, stealing identities, using someone elses health insurance card, giving false information to authorities, killing someone. Seriously interested in knowing which of these things cross the line and which don't, along with any others.
Where do I begin to create an identity after my divorce? I need advice about creating my own identity. I agreed to give my ex-husband a noncontested divorce and once I moved out I haven't been able to even open a banking acct. because I do not drive, thus no license, nor have I ever had a state ID. I once had a military dependent ID card but had to be turned in once he left the military. My passport expired after we came back to the states from a military move and my SSN card was lost in that move. I know my number but without the card and the fact that the passport expired in 1990 negates the fact that the picture on the passport is obviously a picture of me. I can't even get one last medical checkup before the divorce is final because he didn't renew his insurance on me once 2007 started and our old family Dr practice had been disolved last year. If anyone here has experienced a similar situation and/or knows how I can begin to get my ducks in a row I sure would appreciate hearing from you! *Secret*
How do I get someone to move on with their life and leave me alone? I had a relationship that lasted less than 2 weeks - unfortunately a child resulted from this relationship. The blood test did not dismiss me as the father - I have paid child support, provided health insurance and reimbursed the mother for my share of what the insurance doesn't cover - always paid, never late. I have no relationship with the child and do not contact the mother other than paying the bills because the mother has physically attacked me and is a complete psycho. She has done everything to make my life hell. She has not given up on the idea that somehow we're a family. She pretends to be my ex-wife and is now using my name to open medical bills but doesn't pay them even when I've reimbursed her for them, which has affected my credit - she has the bills sent to her house and doesn't forward them to me. I'm going for identity theft but don't know what else to do. How do I get her to leave me alone and get on with her life? This has been going on for 15+ years. Thx!

Is the great state of Texas turning BLUE ? DALLAS - This conservative metropolis could become the nation's largest city to elect an openly gay mayor if a longtime city council member wins a runoff election later this month. Ed Oakley's candidacy is the latest indication that Dallas' reputation as a conservative stronghold is giving way to more diversity. The city is already home to several gay elected officials, including the sheriff. "Dallas is less and less the Dallas that people think it is," said Cal Jillson, a political science professor at Southern Methodist University. "And Dallas is less and less the Dallas that it used to be." In the mayoral race, Oakley and former construction company CEO Tom Leppert emerged from a crowded 11-candidate field that included another openly gay man and a transgendered woman. Oakley and Leppert will be the only candidates in the June 16 runoff. But if Oakley, 54, is on the edge of history, he doesn't talk about it. His sexuality hasn't figured prominently in the campaign. Oakley said his internal polling showed it had little impact on voters. "I have never made this an issue, a part of what I am or who I am or what I have done to represent the community," said Oakley, a small business owner. Dallas, with a population of 1.2 million, is home to a growing gay community with an estimated 120,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered households. The city has nondiscrimination policies covering sexual orientation and gender identity and offers health insurance to the domestic partners of city employees, measures praised as progressive by local gay-rights activists. "I think some people don't realize that Dallas is very diverse: economically, ethnically, culturally," said Pete Webb, president of the Dallas Gay and Lesbian Alliance.

Transgendered Health Insurance? Does anyone know of any health insurance plans in the United States which would cover some of the medical costs associated with treating Gender Identity Disorder through male-to-female? Medications, surgeries, therapy, hair removal, anything at all? If not this is going to cost me tens and tens of thousands of dollars and I will probably end up moving to Canada where people aren't so hateful. P.S. If I receive any ignorant replies from hicks who don't like my medical condition or pursuit of happiness, I'll report you, and I will also laugh and feel sorry for you that you are so ignorant and hateful.
Concerned that I might become victim of Identity Theft/Fraud. How to protect? Additional details are below:? I sent a completed application to Bank of America to open a new Brokerage Acct with a copy of my passport, copy of my driver license, my social security number, my checking acct no and bank routing number by fax. Bank of America said they have not received the faxed documents. I am really concerned that if these documents fall in wrong hand, it can misused for any purpose. I am 100% sure that the Bank received the fax since I have fax confirmation receipt. Can you please advise me on the followings? I will close my bank account. But the submitted documents can be misused for getting loans and credit cards etc. How can I protect my self against this? Is there any insurance available? I really want to complain against Bank of america since the bank is taking this lightly and hesitant in doing any investigation of this issue. I am just a small customer which means nothing to the bank. Is there any organization where I can submit this complaint against this bank?
Do you believe in insurance? Sisters blew whistle on Katrina claims By MICHAEL KUNZELMAN, Associated Press Writer Sat Aug 26, 8:36 PM ET OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. - Who are the moles? The question was like a parlor game for employees of State Farm Insurance Co. after Hurricane Katrina, one they nervously played during coffee breaks or in the parking lot after work. ADVERTISEMENT Richard "Dickie" Scruggs, a prominent lawyer of tobacco litigation fame, created a stir by announcing in March that two "insiders" were helping him build cases against insurers for denying claims for Hurricane Katrina losses. Their identities remained a mystery until the day in early June when Cori and Kerri Rigsby — employees of a company that contracted with State Farm — told a supervisor they were cooperating with Scruggs. That startling admission — and their subsequent resignations — ended a risky charade. The Rigsbys say they spent months collecting reams of internal State Farm reports, memos, e-mails and claims records before they gave them to Scruggs and state and federal authorities. The sisters, who managed teams of State Farm adjusters, say the documents show that the insurer defrauded policyholders by manipulating engineers' reports so that claims could be denied.
Identity Theft by Family....? My husband's stepdad and mom took out four credit cards in his name and maxed them out and never paid a dime. We always pay cash for everything or used a credit card I had and didn't find out until 2 years later (this past summer) when we were buying a house. At that time his stepdad was dying of pancreatic cancer. We still confronted his mom about it and she said that she knew we had good jobs and could pay for the credit cards and they took them out to pay for their transmission, bills, etc. We told her if she would have asked us for help, we would have, but they didn't even tell us about the cards and now they've ruined my husbands credit! We settled with 2 companies, but still have two more. His stepdad died in October and she received an insurance settlement. When my husband asked if she would help us settle with the other 2 companies, she threw a fit and acted like we were trying to steal "her" money! Now we have decided to take legal action. What should we do first?
is this identity theft? So I applied for health insurance and was denied coverage because the medical history that I provided did not match what they had. So i called them to find out why this was and they said that I was getting prescriptions filled on a regular basis. I haven't had a prescription filled in over 5 years!! so I asked them where this was happening and they informed me it was in Maryland. i live in CA and have never even been to MD. I told them this and they said that this is what came up when they ran my SSN and Date of birth and they can't just take my word that it is not me. should I be worried? what can I do to fix this? I have pulled a credit report an there is nothing out of the ordinary

Child Tax Credits identity theft!? I have just found out that someone has accessed my child tax credit award via telephone changing my bank account to another and changing my claim from lone parent to working and asking for child care. I went to tax office in woolwich, se18, only to find them say this has happened to lots of people in the area, there were a number of people who had the same thing happening to them, some had, had extra children added to there claim and others that they were working. Has this happened to anyone else? I am totally outraged that this has been allowed to happen, I never chuck any letters away with my national insurance, etc. I have contacted itv newsdesk and am wondering what else to do? as we should have pin numbers etc when asked for our present information and circumstances to be changed by the flippin phone!
Should I purchase Identity Theft? I lost my ssn card a few days ago, so I applied for a new one, and I also put a fraud alert with the 3 credit bureaus, BUT I was reading this Protection Plan they offer for $15 a month and I was wondering, is it a good idea to sing up for it? They give you a $20,000 insurance policy with no limits on how often you check your credit reports and they also monitor any BIG changes in your credit....So if you have any experience or input in this matter, I would greatly appreciate your comments!!!
Legal advice, release of identity follow-up? To follow up on my previous post. I dont believe they did it for any potential gain, there would be none. But it does seem to me to be quite negligent. I have the newspaper article in front of me, and if the mother of his son hadn't called me and told me first, and I happened to pick up this paper, I kid you not, i would have either puked or had a heart attack. (It mentions that he was speaking when the first responders arrived on the scene.... of course "not for long"...as his skull was fractured. As far as his girlfriend goes, I honestly believe she was an innocent victim of "his" lie. She wasn't lying, but relaying what she believed to be true. However, they did return to me (finally) his wallet which includes his birth certificate, his social insurance card, bank card, HEALTH CARD. i find it hard to believe that if a true effort was put forth, that they would have had too hard a time putting the puzzle together. Was it negligent to take the word of somone who knew him for 7mos?
How can a person find their own identity? I'm in my mid-twenties, and am a junior in college. I've made some mistakes in life that I regret deeply. I don't know how to afford to live in an area that pays a lower minimum wage for a higher cost of living, nor do I know how to even keep a job and go to college, since I cannot actually pass my classes with the grades I was aiming for already, let alone with a job to get in the way. I don't know how to get car insurance that I can afford. All I have left is $400, which is supposed to be used for food, traveling to school, and bills and last me through June. On top of this stress, I have no clue who I am as a person, nor where to begin to discover myself... I don't know what I want to do in life, nor where I want to be 6 months, 2 years, and 10 years down the line... I don't know how to select something to want to do, or somewhere I could want to be. I would appreciate some assistance from somebody who has some experience in figuring this sort of thing out. Thank you very much. The car can't go. I will lose a great deal more money by attempting to sell it, as the value it is going for is less than the value I owe on it. The $400 I have left came from student loans to "help" with the "cost of living."
Are you ready for the National Real ID? Invasion of privacy? Identity theft? Concerned? The US government has developed a Real ID that will contain all of your personal data in the near future - prescriptions and medical records, all licensing, etc. It will eventually have a chip that can track you wherever you are - sounds a little like Sci-Fi or maybe like the movies "The Net" or "Enemy of the State". Most states have refused to accept this because it will allow the government to control the lives of the citizens but do nothing to protect us from illegals. Illegals will still be working for cash, not paying taxes and drinking while driving without insurance, continuing drug smuggling, selling children for sex, etc. Why not have a scanable card that just has the current information on the card - like for your driver's licence - only embed them with chips that lead back to the issuing government agent? This way if someone has a US card illegally, it can be traced back to the agent who issued the card. Let us penalize those guilty of crimes, not the taxpayers! burdawg, I agree with you that we need to be able to separate the citizens from illegal invaders in our country - just not at the expense of the citizens. We already have driver's licenses or state IDs. Our national ID is our Social Security number. This is what is being abused. Currently our SS# is on paper - easy to replicate. Now what they were all on a plastic cards that had your basic information in it - full name and hidden SS#. The only way that the number would show up is by scanning the card at a government location like a driver's licensing facility. The government agent who issued the SS card at the government facility would not be able to release the card to you until they first swiped the card which would then record the agent issuing the card. This would prevent using fake documents to get a license and enable us to trace back to the issuing agents for fraudulent activities where the blame should be. http://www.gohunter08.com/ insighthere, I did not know that something similar existed. What I do not like about the card you mentioned is that the government is better able to monitor people. I never want the government to have access to every little thing about me - nor do I want it floating around in cyberspace to be used to threaten my freedom. We really have to be cautious about how much private information is available to the government to prevent government control. Think of the Nazis. What would it be like today if the same thing happened through medical cards - easy to identify any number of ailments that might be a drain to the system and eliminate the burden. No thanks. I'm not ready for that kind of access by just anyone. A simple chip tracing back to the issuing agent will work just fine for me - but nothing personal about me on that card.
What do I do? I am being sued!? A guy on a motorcycle ran into me and had injuries, I turned left in front of him (did not see him) yes it was my fault. He is now demanding $60,000. My insurance company has already paid the limit and he is wanting more because the insurance did not cover all. He has Blue cross and state farm also. I have been advised if I did not settle that it could go to a jury trial and he could end up getting more!. Well if I cant pay the 60 how can he get more out of me. I do not have that kind of money! What are my options? Bankruptcy or changing my identity? The insurance company gave me a lawyer to contact, but somehow the insurance company does not seem to have my best interest. Should I get my own lawyer? Geez wonder how much that cost? What should I do? It wasnt like I meant to hit him! Whats the worst case and the best case and best and worst options?
If I know who stole my credit card number...what can I do? Today we were the victims of identity theft. We filed a police report, placed fraud alert on our credit reports and of course cancelled the debit card in which was involved. The detective at the police station was able to find the name of the people, since they ordered clothing at a major retailer and so I actually have the name and address and phone number of the jerks who did it. Can I pursue legal action? Most people never find out who does this...but I have the freaking couples address! What can I do legally and is it worth it? Total amount lost is a little over $1000 cold hard cash...as it was our debit card direct from our account. Luckily we have identity theft insurance but the deductible is still $250. Help!
Natwest Advantage Gold? Is it any good, do you think? I've been with Natwest for 16 years but only on their standard current account. I've never had any trouble with them... With Advantage Gold you pay £12 a month and get mobile phone, identity theft and travel insurance, plus some other perks like preferential rates on products... The reason I'm tempted to sign up is because someone recently stole my credit card details and used them online. I'm getting the money refunded by my credit card company but it got me thinking.....

Psychology help? Psychologists who support the diagnostic criteria of dissociative identity disorder argue that the sharp increase inreported cases in recent decades is probably due to: a - the fact that most insurance plans now cover treatment for dissociative identity disorder. b - the greater prevalence of drug use among grade-school children, which may produce dissociative identity disorder in adulthood. c -greater clinical awareness of the disorder and of its symptoms and increased screening for dissociative symptoms. d -greater coverage of sensational dissociative identity disorder patients in movies and television shows, making it easier for disturbed people to mimic the symptoms.

Do you REALLY think ILLEGALS are law abiding? (this is a non-racial issue, just about law)? Maybe the deceived people who support illegals here could get a grip if they saw it laid out like this: 1. They know it is a crime to come here without the permission, so they sneak in. crime #1 2. They cannot leglly work. they get jobs crime #2 3. They do not pay taxes into a federally mandated program that is designated for each individual worker crime #3 4. Some use fake ID and social SS#.. crime #4, #5 5. Some use REAL SS#'s and adopt other REAL person's IDENTITY. Crimes #6 & #7 6. Drive without licenses, insurance, without valid plates. Crimes #8, 9, &10 7. Give false names when arrested. Crime #11 8. defraud emergency rooms with false names or receive service with no intention of paying, due to the inability really find out who they were CRIME #12 9. Assist other illegals by finding jobs, residences, aquireing fake ID & SS#, Helping other illegals to cross the border, either financially or putting them in contact with 'coyotes' all this=conspiracy CRIMES #13-19 Of course, most of the listed infraction are relating to the same thing, but it is so with any criminal activity: Drugs- Importation, intent to distribute, distribution, conspiracy, possession of a controlled sustance Murder- murder, attempted murder, attempt to do great bodily harm, assault, assault with a deadly weapon. Most serious crimes are not just the one individual act. They are supported by many other illegal acts as well I forgot to list forgery in the first area, as I ran out of time crime #20! Well, Dd, I can truthfully answer your question. I live, LEGALLY, in Mexico right now. I am building a business that will help the economy by lowering prices for small businesses and I plan on taking this business national here. I plan on paying a very good wage to my workers and I educate everyone that I can talk to about the reasons to NOT go to the US, ILLEGALLY! What you do not understand, because you bought into the we are starving lie is that they do not come to the USA for a way to stop their families from dieing, they actually come here so they can be RICH in their homelands. You should see all the booming sales of Cadilac, BMW, Mercedes, and HUMMER sales down here, openly bragged about that it was bought with onies gained while being illegal in the USA! YOU WILL NOT READ OR HEAR THIS IN THE US MEDIA! If any of you do not believe it, come and see for yourself. for every 1 that claims poverty, there are 50 that have no such claim! fmfaris, I see so if we had not had immigration laws then the current illegals would not even have come here? our laws FORCED THEM TO COME HERE. get a grip! and as for the idea that our bill of rights extends to other nations and peoples, you are in serious error on any basis, legal and moral! the UNITED STATES Constitution is the governing law of the UNITED STATES, you see, we do not run the whole of planet earth! As for expatriation, Do you undeerstand the word? it means that anyone can renounce his citizenship! that does not include his ability (again, legally or morally) to force another government to adopt him read "a man without a country"! and know what you are talking about before you look so foolish again! against what RACE exactly robert? and what proof do you offer to support your assertions that the majority of them live law abiding lives? do you know the majority of 'them'? is 'illegal alien' a 'race' now? I know for a fact that what I wrote is true as my experience as a government worker showed me and knowing a large number of illegals (and YES I reported many) telling lies, no matter how often you do it, will not turn them into truth! "And remember this country would have not been as it is today if the government many years ago would have not brought in illegally slaves from Africa." ? Are you joking? you mean that we would all be in 1492 huts and cabins if it were not for slaves? slaves did not do construction, by and large, they were used as farm animals (I AM NOT SAYING THEY WERE ANIMALS, I AM MERELY RECOGNIZING WHAT THE SITUATION WAS AT THAT TIME). as stated this is not a racial issue as 'illegal alien" is not a race!
Gender Reassignment? I'm watching Dr. Phil right now and it's about a girl who has lived her whole life feeling like a boy inside. She wants to have gender reassignment surgery to allow her outsides to match her insides. Also on The L Word, Moira transitions to Max... anyway, my point is that there are people out there who are really born feeling they are in the wrong body! Just like people are born gay... And I do believe that happens. More and more, gender identity is being brought into public debate. Should medical insurance cover the cost of gender reassignment? and with what pre-requisites? In my opinion it should. Our country is founded on the 'pursuit of happiness' does that quote apply here? I am interested to see what everybody thinks...
Another question on bankruptcy....? I am considering bankruptcy after failure to pay off debts. The debts are not from careless spending--a huge part of the debt is a mortgage to a home that I lost during hurricane wilma and didn't have proper insurance coverage. Also, there is debt from a fraud/identity theft situation that was never resolved and can't be at this point. I'm not sure how to tell if I am eligible for a chapter 7. I have tried debt consolidation, restructuring the mortgage, etc. That is not an option at this point either since the mortgage is to a home that no longer exists. I would just like to know what happens if you do not have any assets to give up during bankruptcy. Also, I live with my boyfriend and he has his own assets and belongings.....they wouldn't take his possessions since we are not legally bound in any way....right? Or am I wrong? I'm just looking for any general advice on bankruptcy....I posted a question before and all I recieved was answers about debt consolidation. Thank you. Okay, for all of you that didnt thoroughly read my question: I already contacted credit counselors and agencies and debt consolidation companies. None of them are able to help me....really. I appreciate your help and the time you took to answer, but I am looking for legit answers on bankruptcy, not credit counseling.

Can you believe this judge ruled not a crime for illegals to use someone’s identity to obtain employment ? For Lora and Jamey Costner, a $7,854 federal income tax bill is the painful indigestion that followed two unsatisfying servings of identity theft cooked up by two former Koch Foods employees... The criminal cases involving the Newport married couple and the two illegal immigrants, who IRS records indicate worked for Koch Foods, have been resolved in the court system. The bitter aftertaste that remains is the unpalatable possibility of having their wages garnished to pay tax bills on income they never earned ... "The overall burden of it all is crushing us, please help," the Costners wrote in an appeal to U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn. "We have done all we know to do." Mrs. Costner says she realized the magnitude of the problem in July when the IRS informed her that she and her husband failed to report approximately $30,000 in income they earned at Koch Foods during 2005. The Costners say it’s easy to prove they both worked at Wallace Hardware in Morristown during 2005. Relatedly, Mrs. Costner maintains it’s child’s play to prove they never worked at Koch Foods during that year. The foreshadowing for Mr. Costner materialized in April 2006 when learned that he was in danger of losing his driver’s license because of unpaid citations for speeding and driving without insurance. The traffic stop came at 3 o’clock in the morning while Mr. Costner was asleep. Also, the driver reportedly did not speak English. Police identified Mrs. Costner’s impersonator as Elizabeth Velasco Bautista, who later pleaded guilty to criminal impersonation... The interloper in Mr. Costner’s life was Douglas Valdez, according to Ellis. Ellis says Valdez avoided the identity-theft charge because a judge ruled that it was not a crime to use someone’s identity to obtain employment. The Costners remain in IRS legal limbo.http://www.citizentribune.com/news/view_sections.asp?idcategory=9&idarticle=7876 So using the judge’s identity to commit crimes would be legal too? It’s a virtual certainty now that a Cocke County married couple won’t have to pay a $7,854 IRS tax bill for income earned by two illegal immigrants at Koch Foods, sources say. Jamey and Lora Costner say the IRS had threatened to garnish their wages, despite identity-theft arrests of two former Koch Foods employees and a police detective’s affidavit stating they should not have to pay. "It’s amazing that somebody is finally listening to us," said Mrs. Costner, who worked for Wallace Hardware during the time that an illegal immigrant was using her maiden name and Social Security number at Koch Foods. "They said they were working on it and they thought they were going to get it taken care of." http://www.citizentribune.com/news/view_sections.asp?idcategory=9&idarticle=7885
elvis alive? The only time I feel alive... is when I'm in front of my audience, my people. That's the only time I really feel like I'm human." "Long after I'm gone, what I did today will be heard by someone. I just want them to get the best of what I had." (Elvis Presley) Is Elvis Alive ? There are many reasons to believe that Elvis Presley is dead. When the only arguments to believe otherwise come from crazed fans and supermarket tabloids, it is easy to dismiss the possibility that Elvis is still among us. However, the circumstances surrounding Elvis' alleged death are quite mysterious and beg closer attention. As it turns out, there are many concrete reasons to believe that Elvis is still alive. The Gravesite. Elvis' name is misspelled on his headstone. Elvis' full name is Elvis Aron Presley, but on his grave his middle name is spelled incorrectly with two a's. His father would not have let this happen. When Elvis was born, his name was misspelled on his birth certificate, and his father went to great lengths to get it put right. The unique spelling of Elvis' name was important to his family. Elvis' current "resting place" is in between his father and his grandmother and not next to his mother where he had adamantly requested. It is doubtful that the people close to him would allow these things to happen. Elvis is a superstitious man, enough so that he wouldn't tempt fate by putting his real name on a tombstone, or violate the ground next to his mother until he was ready to be placed there for good. Death Certificate. Elvis was very vain, and he was embarrassed about his recent weight gain, an astonishing 50 pounds in the month before his so-called death. Even though he weighed about 250 pounds at the time of his "death," his death certificate lists him at a spry 170 pounds. The original death certificate disappeared, and the current death certificate is dated two months after his alleged death. The Wax Body Theory. This argument is very convincing when the facts are considered. Elvis' coffin required several pall bearers because it weighed 900 pounds. Attendants of the funeral reported that the air around the coffin was rather cool. It is suspected that the coffin contained an air conditioning unit to keep a wax body cool, a wax body that was a replica of Elvis designed to fool funeral-goers. And how did the Presley family get a 900 pound, custom made coffin ready for a funeral that was held on the day after his death? It takes a lot of time to build such an elaborate coffin. And why was the funeral so quickly? Some say that the immediacy was intended to make it as difficult as possible for the people who were Elvis' biggest fans to attend the proceedings. It could be a concern that they might recognize the flaws in the wax replica. Elvis was an 8th degree black belt whose hands were rough with calluses, yet the body in the coffin had hands that were soft and pudgy. The body in the coffin had a pug nose and arched eyebrows {unlike Elvis} and most importantly, one of the sideburns on the "corpse" was loose and falling off. A hairdresser later reported gluing the sideburn back on the body. Unusual Behavior. Two hours after Elvis' death was announced publicly, a man who reportedly looked remarkably like Elvis purchased a ticket for Buenos Aeries, paid in cash, and used the name John Burrows: the same name Elvis had used as an alias several times before. Elvis had a few books that were considered to be his most prized possessions. He had a bible, several pharmaceutical books, books on death, and most importantly Chiro's Book of Numbers and The Autobiography of Yogi which I will explain more about later. After Elvis's death was announced, these books disappeared and were never recovered. In the weeks preceding his alleged death, Elvis' actions were not those of a man who was about to embark on an extensive US tour. He ordered no new suits despite having gained 50 pounds since his last tour, and he bid "adios" at his last show in Hawaii. He had never done this before. Adios, like the French adieu, has the significance of being a final good-bye as opposed to an "I'll be seeing you on my next tour" kind of good-bye. Others were intrigued by Elvis' decision to sign a lucrative TV deal with NBC that would cover the tour. It was unprecedented for a network to pay such a large amount up front, in cash, for such a deal. Many wonder why Elvis even agreed to the deal since his vanity discouraged him from making public appearances due to his weight gain. RCA showed uncanny and unbelievable foresight by mass producing millions of Elvis' current and previous recordings and merchandise. This is standard practice for an act that is about to go on tour, but the numbers in this case were beyond reasonable expectations. The announcement of Elvis' death caused record sales to skyrocket. Elvis did other unusual things that created suspicion. First, he fired several employees that he had relied upon for a long time. Also, two days before his alleged death, Elvis telephoned a friend of his named Miss Foster. He told her that he wasn't planning on going on the upcoming tour. She asked him if he had canceled it, and he said that he had not. When she asked if he was ill, he said that he was fine, and that she should not ask any more questions or tell anyone anything, and that she should not believe anything she read. He told her that his troubles would all soon be over, and that he would call her in a few weeks. The author of Elvis Where Are You? writes that Miss Foster took a polygraph test regarding this story, and that she was not lying. The day after Elvis' alleged death, a woman named Lucy De Barbon, a former lover of Elvis, received a single rose in the mail. The card indicated that the flower was from "El Lancelot." This had been her pet name for Elvis, and it was a name that no one else knew. Flowers can't be sent from beyond the grave. This was Elvis' way of letting her know that he was not dead, even though he didn't want to be found. Chiro's Book of Numbers. Elvis had a fascination with numerology, an interest he fed by reading Chiro's Book of Numbers. The theory that Elvis orchestrated his death is further supported when considering the significance of the date of his alleged death. The date in question is August 16, 1977. By adding the numbers in the date, 8, 16, and 1977, you get 2001. This is the title of Elvis' favorite movie in which the hero plans his immortality in the bathroom. Elvis spent a considerable amount of time doing the same: planning his afterlife on the toilet.. Elvis spent so much time in the bathroom that he had his toilet converted into a reclining comfy chair. Coincidentally, the bathroom is also where Elvis' body was reportedly found. Given Elvis' religious beliefs, he had a fascination with things that come in threes, for example, father, son, and holy ghost. The sum of the digits from his favorite film (2+0+0+1) is three. Let's consider the triad of the repetition of the number 24. 2001 (favorite film) less 1977 (year of death) is 24. The two numbers from the day of death (8/16) when added up equal 24. The sum of the digits in the year of death (1+9+7+7) also equals 24. That is 3 occurrences of the number 24 which is divisible by 3, and when divided by three the result, 8 has a perfect cubed root (2x2x2=8). Elvis loved numerology, and when you consider the numeric significance of the date of his alleged death, it is clear that if indeed he did plan to fake his death, he could not have chosen a better date. Reason Elvis had many reasons to fake his death. It has been said that Elvis' life was in danger. He had recently lost $10,000,000 in an airplane/real estate deal with a California based organization called the "Fraternity" that had links to the Mafia. It is speculated that he corroborated with the government to expose the organized crime ring in exchange for protection, perhaps in the form of a new life and identity compliments of the Witness Protection Program. Elvis was a prisoner of his own fame. He had many other reasons to leave his life behind. Because of his incredible popularity he recieved several death threats, and he was concerned about the safety of his ex-wife and daughter. Sometimes when he wanted to leave Graceland he would send look-alikes out to distract would be followers. Elvis was also known to ride in the trunk of someone else's car to avoid being seen. Once, when he fell ill in Las Vegas, he couldn't get proper medical attention because the hospital was overwhelmed by fans. At the time of his alleged death, Elvis thought he was nearing the end of his career. He saw his self as 42 with greying hair, overweight, and he thought his voice was starting to weaken,. He was going down hill, and he was too proud to go out with a whimper. He would never want his fans to see him in such an unhealthy condition. Elvis had shown a fascination with death on several occasions. In the days leading up to his alleged death he was reported to have visited funeral homes at odd hours of the night with close friends. Was he doing research? Elvis once faked his death by setting up an elaborate shooting in which a would be killer fired blanks at Elvis who had a blood pack which he discharged. It was Elvis' intention to see how the people closest to him would react to his death. Perhaps what he learned convinced him to do it for real. Finally, one of Elvis' favorite books is the spiritual Autobiography of Yogi. One of the central themes of this book is the relinquishing of one's wealth and earthly possessions to achieve spiritual oneness. Elvis could do this, as well as address his other concerns of sanity and safety by faking his death and living in exile. Means. Elvis had the means to fake his own death. He is accused of destroying himself with drugs. In reality, Elvis was a pharmaceutical expert. He took a lot of drugs, but he knew what he was doing and was extremely careful. He knew what drugs he could self-administer to create a deathlike state. Also Elvis' experience with the martial arts was such that he could slow his heart rate and breathing in order to feign death. Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, had once created a new identity for himself. He came to America as an illegal immigrant from Holland, but through various connections managed to create a new identity complete with a passport, birth certificate, drivers license, and social security number. He would have known how to give Elvis a second life. Aswell as Elvis' ties to the government through his testimony against the "Fraternity", Elvis was known to interact with the President of the United States. He was reported in government documents to use the name John Burrows as an alias when he wanted to travel. Some people believe that Elvis worked for the government as a drug agent. He did, after all have extensive contact with many people in the music business who, as we know, tend to dabble in illegal substances. And, of course, we must allow that Elvis' connections to the government gave him access to the Witness Protection Program. If they can turn the Simpsons into the Thompsons, they can relocate anybody. Orion? Many believe that Elvis couldn't have given up performing completely. Just imagine, after a while the desire to perform would grow once he started his life in exile. The story of Orion supports the theory that Elvis attempted a secret comeback. Shortly after Elvis' alleged death, a masked singer by the name of Orion emerged on the scene. He was big like Elvis, and he sang just like Elvis. Because of the mask no one could tell his true identity. One fan described seeing Orion from near the stage. She claims that Orion left the stage between songs, and when he appeared moments later the sweat was gone from his armpits and back and she thought that his costume looked slightly different. After the song he left the stage, and the original Orion returned. Another fan described how she rushed into a tour bus at an Orion show only to see two Orions in the back of the bus. She claimed that one ducked into the bathroom before she could get a good look at him, but he appeared to look like Elvis Presley. What's even more remarkable is the fictional story called Orion that was written by Gail Brewer-Georgio about a legendary performer who had several identities and wanted to fake his death. The story was written and submitted to the William Morris Agency for publication consideration after Elvis' alleged death and before the real Orion ever performed. As it turns out, there are many ways in which the real Orion mimicked the events as described in the book. For example, the performers' managers had the same name. Also, without knowing it, Brewer-Georgio wrote of events in Orion that had actually taken place in Elvis' life. It was a case of life imitating art. Picking up the Pieces. In 1981, 20/20 did an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged death of Elvis Presley. The investigative report was very convincing. Oddly enough, within two weeks of the report, the singer, Orion, disappeared and was never heard from again. The book, Orion disappeared from shelves across the country. It had been recalled by the publisher which was associated with the William Morris Agency. Incidentally, the William Morris Agency is the same agency that represented Elvis. It seems that Elvis Presley is worth more dead than alive. By faking his death and relocating with a new identity he is safe from his fans and the "Fraternity", the government can make a solid case against the organized crime ring, and RCA, Elvis' family, and Elvis' management can all reap immense financial benefits from the attention. That is... except for one benefit....after nearly 25 years no one has collected on his life insurance policy. Why ????? During his last concert tour in 1977, Elvis spoke of "not looking good tonight", but, he would look good in his coffin. He made comments of being tired of living as he was and how it was going to change. He told of how he would like to be just himself instead of an "image". On August 16th 1977, at 8:00 A.M., Elvis told Ginger Alden that he was going into the bathroom to read. (This bathroom/lounge had it's own back entrance.) For the next six hours no one saw him. Elvis signed for a special delivery letter at 9:30 A.M. At 2:00 P.M. Ginger Alden found the apparent body of Elvis lying on the floor in front of his chair, where he had been reading. She called Al Strada who in turn called Joe Esposito. George Nichopoulous (aka Dr. Nick) was then telephoned. Joe called the fire department, unit 6. The ambulance arrived at Graceland at 2:33 P.M. Paramedics administered CPR, despite rigor mortis. The body was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital at 2:48 P.M. By 3:00 P.M. Elvis' family members and friends were informed of his "death". Public announcement was given at 3:30 P.M. August 17th, the body was brought back to Graceland for family viewing. The public viewing was from 3:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. On August 18th,1977. Tennesse Governor Ray Blanton ordered flags to be flown at half-mast for the duration of the funeral procession. At midday the Graceland gates swung open, a white Cadillac hurse rolled through them, followed by sixteen white Cadillac limousines. QUESTIONS BEGIN How could it take twenty minutes for paramedics to drive sixteen blocks to Graceland if the call came in at 2:33 P.M.? The Medical Examiner's Report states that the body was found with rigor mortis, while the police report states "unconcious". Why would anyone try to give CPR to a rigor mortised body ? The ME report listed the body as weighing 80 pounds lighter then Elvis' actual weight. How could Elvis have passed a physical exam just prior to August 16th if his heart was so enlarged ? How could he have played raquetball for several hours on August 16th, just before his "death" ? ABC's 1979 program on the cover up of Elvis' death stated that all the stomach contents were destroyed. Bill Burkin in his book Elvis World states that officials at Babtist Memorial Hospital had assured him that the stomach contents had been shipped to a California lab to be examined and then on to a lab in Utah, and then ? There are rumors of Elvis' "death" being caused by a heart attack, drug overdose, suffocation in carpeting, suicide and even cancer ! Persons in attendance at Graceland at the time of "death" don't agree on the color of pajamas Elvis was wearing or the posistion of the body. Why did Vernon ask many people NOT to attend the funeral but to come a week later ? Why did Vernon refuse to accept the flag which is usually given to dead war veterans ? Why didn't Elvis have any new jumpsuits made during 1977 ? The handwriting on the death certificate matched Elvis' own writing ! Elvis was very aware of which presribed drugs did not mix well with others. Elvis had glaucoma, and Dexedrine, a drug not to be taken with that condition, was listed as being in his system. Who would prescribe it and why would he take it ? Whose body was autopsied ? Funeral homes don't usually keep solid copper coffins in stock. These coffins weigh in the area of 300 pounds and usually take two months to receive once ordered. This coffin seemed to have been ready. Monte Nicholson, a nineteen year veteran of the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department, wrote a novel called The Presley Arrangement. This novel tells the story of a body that is autopsied, a man resembling Elvis. The man had died of cancer. The body is later returned for private burial, to the man's own family. The man's family are paid to remain silent about the incident. Nicholson explains a government connection. In a 1989 radio interview Nicholson said that even if he knew there was an FBI connection and was told not to say anything, he COULD NOT say. Nicholson also claimed that if he knew the answer to the question, and says he does, he will not disclose his knowledge. He said that if Elvis is alive that his book is pretty close to the truth of what REALLY happened. Was Elvis a DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) agent ? Elvis can be seen wearing a DEA Staff jacket in several photographs, including one taken in June of 1977, approximately six weeks before his "death". Also Elvis was wearing a jogging suit with the DEA logo on it during the early morning hours of August 16th 1977. When Elvis met with President Richard Nixon he said he had been "studying" the drug culture for over 10 years, he could get into any culture group and be accepted. Elvis said he had gotten alot from the country and he wanted to repay in some way. It would have been a dangerous job and one that an entertainer such as Elvis would not have HAD to do unless he chose to. Many DEA agents pose as "drug users" and "pushers" in their undercover work. Elvis could get to anyone if he appeared to be a "user". In the book Elvis: What Happened? one of the guys wondered if Elvis was ever as whacked out as he seemed to be. Maybe he is a "great" actor after all. Perhaps he deserves an "Oscar". Death threats were issued against Elvis and his family. Those who had leveled those threats had actually broken into Graceland. At times, the FBI were called. Deputy Narcotics Director John Finlator arranged for Elvis to come to his office under the name of John Burrows. Finlator didn't want to give Elvis a badge but the President reversed the decision. On December 21st of 1970, Elvis met with President Richard Nixon in the oval office, Washington, D.C. Elvis had written a letter requesting a meeting and expressed his concerns about the drug culture, hippie elements, the SDS and other groups who were against the establishment. When Finlator finally gave Elvis the badge and promised to issue him consultant credentials, Elvis was overcome with emotion and his eyes became misty. Ten days later he met with the FBI. On the same day, President Nixon wrote Elvis a thank you. Elvis wrote to the President and said, "I can and will do more good, if I were made a Federal Agent at large, and I will help out by doing it my way." Elvis was known to be in his bedroom for weeks, seeing no one. (There was a back staircase at Graceland.) Elvis could sneak out whenever he needed to. Department of the Treasury-Bob Pritchett says that during the years of '74, '75, and '76 "Mr. Presley provided one of our undercover agents, who was a musician, a job cover. Undercover agents appear to have other occupations. None of Elvis' group of friends knew of this agent and the role he played in setting up his cover. Since he had an undercover agent in his group from '74-'76, when did he find time to use drugs himself? Elvis was very good at keeping secrets and living a "double life". Elvis spoke with President Carter two weeks before his death. It involved aid to a friend. On August 16, 1977, President Carter issued this tribute: "Elvis Presley's death deprives our country of a part of itself. He was unique and irreplaceable. More than twenty years ago he burst upon the scene with an impact that was unprecedented and will probably never be equaled. His music and his personality, fusing the styles of white country and black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense and he was a symbol of good humor of his country." This was a formal statement, when a celebrity's death is usually only commented on. He had spoken to Nixon and Carter both shortly before the day he died. In the September 1988 issue of American Karate magazine, Ed Parker tells of a time when a terrorist group threatened Elvis' life to make him an example of how they could get to famous people. They threatened to plant a bomb in one of the gifts offered to Elvis at a concert. This was a threat as long as he was "alive", and his family were targets also. Elvis always had law enforcement officials around him. John O'Grady, who was earlier in charge of NARC Divisions of the LAPD, was one of them. He also hired Dick Grob, a former sargeant with the Palm Springs Police. He was surrounded by at least two lawmen in top security positions. Elvis was in danger. The "hoax" may have been the only way out! History will prove Elvis to be an American hero beyond being an American entertainer. SIGHTINGS With all the Elvis lookalikes, he could actually walk around using disguises and get away with it. Who would be looking for him anyway, when he is supposedly dead? Before 1977, there was an "Elvis lookalike, sound alike" at a Memphis theatre. Elvis put on his best "Elvis outfit", strolled in and mingled with the clones, doing his best "Hey, baby". Afterwards, he came back to Graceland laughing. He tried out and lost! Elvis and his mother's bodies were moved to the Meditation Gardens for burial, after three men tried to break into the crypt. Graceland was rezoned to permit burials at the estate. In the 1989 Orion's "Farewell to the King", the King says "I died once. I had to be willing to give up everything, even the will to live." The last recording session at Graceland was The Last Farewell. There have been many sightings at various places including Graceland. There are some escape routes at Graceland that people don't know about. In a syndicated newspaper across the nation on June 5, 1990, an article headlined "Elvis Lives, At Least On Census Form." The Census Bureau reported in 1990 that Elvis returned a questionaire to the bureau office in Huntsville, Alabama. It was noticed by census workers who were screening forms for completednesss. Late Night with Ross Shafer (August 1988) had a survey that showed that out of 30,000 people polled, approximately 84% believe Elvis is alive. On Monday, August 22, 1988, Harold Schuitmaker, in an item of the Detroit News, said "Elvis is Alive and Living in Kalamazoo." Schuitmaker was a well known Michigan politician and resident of Paw Paw (15 miles from Kalamazoo). The masked singer Orion was at the McMinnville Civic Center and a fan said that she felt that the man onstage and the one who signed autographs were different people. People have reported that someone sounding like Elvis called them on the phone and some hung up because they couldn't believe it. A book titled Elvis: Where Are You? came out of Wilton Manors, Florida around August, 1982 under the name of Al Jefferies. The premise of the book was that Elvis hoaxed his death. Kelly Burgess, a former assistant editor and feature writer with the Detroit News, claimed to have seen Elvis in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is not living now. In 1988, Heartbreak Hotel starred David Keith as Elvis. (The film had the support of EP Enterprises.) A soundtrack album thanked Jerry Schilling and a special thanks to J.B. In 1987's Robo Cop, a cop is killed, but didn't die. He returns as Robo Cop-a superman hero. It was filmed in Michigan. During that time radio stations got calls from a man sounding like Elvis Presley. There have been lots of sightings there and it was also on his final concert tour. Is this possibly a "message" film? March 18, 1990, an article on Robo Cop, in the Detroit News told of Robo Cop speaking to a Boys and Girls club against drugs. It was a three month long anti-drug campaign organized by the FBI, Orion Home Video of New York, and the Boys Club of America. This Robo Cop was not the same actor as in the movie-his true identity was not revealed. he was a special agent helping the FBI fight the war on drugs. His suit was bullet-proof. During filming, some people saw a man looking like an older Elvis. In Mac and Me, a film from 1988, a young alien is lost and at the end the family drives away in an old pink Cadillac convertible. A balloon caption says "We'll be back". The sound track is on Curb Records, which is the same label as "Spelling on the Stone". There were some song lyrics which were: "Tired of being myself, being different from everyone else, somehow you knew I needed your help, be my friend forever. I never found my star in the night; living my dream was far from sight." There was a scene in the movie where Eric asks Debbie "Why didn't you tell him that you saw him (the alien)?" She says, "Because no one would believe me." Elvis has become a mythic figure, and there have been frequent rumors that he is still alive. Elvis remains the single most influential and respected figure in the history of Rock music. Elvis was the first Rock/Pop singer to have a single record sell a million copies, the first to go platinum with an album in less than two weeks, the first singer to pre-sell a million records before it's release, the first entertainer to earn a million dollars for one concert performance, and the first young, white, southern male to bring international attention to the importance of black rhythm and blues. He was the first singer to get a million dollar screen contract. He was the first music personality to have a TV performance broadcast worldwide via satellite. In 1993, he became the first rock'n'roll star whose picture appeared on a commemorative U.S. Postal stamp (the largest stamp printing in history). Elvis is a landmark in almost everyone's life, going back to distant memories of watching him above the waist on Ed Sullivan or hearing "Hound Dog" for the first time. His image continues to mesmerize: witness the appearance of 200 Elvis impersonators at Liberty Weekend in 1986. There was a time when he was merely the most popular entertainer in history. He is more than that now. He is a symbol of America as recognizable as the flag. Elvis opened the 'window of his soul' to his fans all over the world. Thank you, Elvis! Remember you are always on our minds. "TCB FOREVER! Any Comments on this ? E-mail Me i found this on the internet weird
